Biomass burial is a type of biomass carbon removal and storage (BiCRS) that uses photosynthesis to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere, and stores the resulting biomass to prevent or slow decomposition. This pathway is VCL 1-4, meaning that current quantification capacity can establish permanent carbon removal for some approaches, but that for others, very significant uncertainties remain.
